Mid- year Updates with our friend Corner Blomevi👓✏

This is Corner speaking, and I have some fresh announcements for you. As the mascot and the brain behind this website. I’m glad to present to you our latest updates !

Ultimately, Nuna (our cherished writer and webmaster) hasn’t been able to post regularly…  The good news is that there are some new projects coming on and it’s keeping her busy. She is deeply sorry for her absence, but she’ll be back soon!

As you know, “Corner The Talking Brain” is not only a Blog platform; but it’s also a webnovel  platform where Nuna publishes some of her writings. Therefore, apart from the blog posts (notified via email),  there are also pages  where she publishes fiction.  (click here to access).

After that little explanation, here come the news:

• “Three Expats and a Winter” (sociocultural story)

Being the first fiction published on this website, the first season is over and available. (click here to read). It’s currently on hiatus, but as soon as the muse visits her, Nuna will come back with season two!

• “A Writer Behind The Scenes” (author’s diary)

Cheerful and refreshing, it is based on Nuna’s personal diary where she shares the hoops and lows of her experiences as a newbie author.  It also has a number of episodes available. (Click here to access)

• “Unescorted” (chicklit novel)  

The book was planned to be published at the beginning of this year as an e-book, but there are some major changes to the story and the editing phase has extended a bit. Nuna added more chapters, so the first draft elongated from approximately 50 pages to about 191 pages… Unfortunately we had to postpone the publishing but it will definitely come on.   The story is complete, but still has to be meticulously revised. It’s her first official novel to be published, so as a perfectionist rookie writer, she wants to deliver the best version possible! 
A new release date shall therefore be communicated further ahead.

And now… we saved the best for the last! 

• New project under construction

In regards to the cultural topics that our society has been facing lately,  more specifically concerning the Black Lives Matter movement and the current sensibilization against Anti-asian hate movements, a new project was born. As a great fan of intercultural exchanges and love stories,  Nuna was inspired to start a biracial romantic comedy.

• New look

Our website is undergoing some modifications as far as the presentation and appareance is concerned. We would like it to look better and also offer a better reading experience. There might be some few changes in the colour palette, fonts and other outwards aesthetical aspects, but it will function the same. We apologise for the temporary inconvenience.

• New platforms

To finish, we would like to announce that the audio versions of our blog posts are available on Spotify. On the other hand, videos explaining the content of this website are accessible on our YouTube channel.

Long time no see…

All our apologies for the silence… But we’re working on a surprise project so we had to postpone publishing for a while. We will soon give out more details. Until then, we’d like to share with you some pictures from the first photo shoot we had for Nuna Blomevi’s diary “A Writer Behind The Scenes” (They came out amazing, hehe). The origins of “Corner the Talking Brain”

Corner’s first post and self-introduction

Goodness! I finally get to materialize. It’s been ages since I’ve been trying to convince Nuna to let me come on board.

Oh my… Hello, dear readers. Where are my manners… Anyway, it’s also part of my character to be sexily rude (blame Nuna, she’s my creator).

I’m sure you’re the most curious about how my character came into existence… Well, as Nuna’s brain, I’ve always been there – obviously, seeing how smart she is. One of her dreams was to become a writer so she’s been scribbling stories since she was younger. Being locked down during the Covid-19 pandemic made her realize this: given that she had so much free time, why not put her creativity to use? On the other hand, she’s always been a homebody so I’ve been keeping her company. I help her prepare for the week, decide what to eat or draft stories. Besides, we often hold long conversations about this and that. Some people might consider it as she being an overthinker, but I prefer to say that I share my thoughts with her. I was ever by her side, unconsciously hidden in a corner of her mind. Well, I felt somewhat lonely as well, trapped up in there in her skull. In any case, that’s how we named chose the name “Corner The Talking Brain” (I’m quite the chatterbox).

Consequently, that’s how I was born. My gestation period was between March and June; we launched this website on the 05/06/20 so we consider it my birthday. (I’m mentioning it because I love gifts, hehe).

My full body was illustrated by her friend S.C.M. (We're using only her initials because of privacy). You can get more details and visuals on our Facebook and Instagram pages @cornerthetalkingbrain. By the way, I’m a little annoyed with Nuna because most of the time she gets the credit for all the great ideas and posts on this website. For that reason, I’ll also write from time to time, to mark my presence. But anyway, she’s the human host and I’m only a personification of her brain, so what can I say… Nonetheless, if I do appreciate her for something, it’s for the looks she got me. Mehn, I love my body. (Aside from being a sexily rude intellectual and a sapiosexual hotcake, I’m also a bit narcissic. Let’s just say that my level of self-esteem is slightly high).

Ok, I think I’ve talked quite a lot about me tonight. I’ll chat a bit more with you on some other occasion.
